/>
Ann: Your missing the point. Who cares what school Miers went to. Who cares about her work experience. I don't care if Miers couldn't write a legal brief to save her life! All we need from Ms. Miers is a conservative vote, and she will be one. It is all about one thing: the number 5! And Ms. Miers will be number 5 consistently. Ann get a clue: We already put a highly educated (Harvard Rhodes Scholar) individual with a strong legal background on the court named David Souter and he hasn't been what conservatives expected or deserved! Is that who you are looking for Ann? Believe me Scalia and now Roberts will provide all the conservative-deep-thinking-intellectual-firepower for the whole court. But no matter how smart these justices are, they each only have one vote. And that is all that matters. (Incidentally, Ms. Miers is very intelligent and will be a great justice.) Ann: FYI... Roberts Jr. to be chief justice reflected this philosophy. ...

At the nomination news conference, Ms. Miers' first remarks were reassuring in this regard: "It is the responsibility of every generation to be true to the founders' vision of the proper role of the courts and our society." She promised to "strictly apply the laws and the Constitution."
Conservatives should also be confident that Ms. Miers has the tenacity to remain committed to these principles while under the pressures and scrutiny of the nation's highest court. The president knows her and knows what kind of justice she will make. ...
With the president's knowledge of Ms. Miers, his stated commitment to rebalancing the judiciary and his conservative record - not only in appointing judges but on big decisions in general - conservatives should feel comfortable in taking the president at his word that he has just now delivered another nominee in that tradition.

For Entire Article Please Visit: <a Blacks were property because some thought they were not human. Jews in Germany in WWII, etc...

I believe if a woman wants be a prostitute one certainly could make a compelling case that it is her body and she can choose to do what she wants with it.

However, when another life is in her body that life should have the same rights of protection under the law as the mother enjoys. And the mother must take care of the child inside her as she would if the child was five years old.

When the pro-baby killers say that the baby is a non-viable mass or some such they cheapen life, and try to bring down to a non-human level, thus giving them a rationale for wanting to have the right to kill it. Life must be respected; when life is not respected whether it be because of race, religion, or because it is in the mother's womb, lives have and will continue to be taken.

Also, I don't candy-coat anything there is no pro-life pro-choice to me it's either pro-baby killing or pro-baby saving.

David Koziatek

P.S. You know if you support the pro-baby killing side, and your mother decided to kill you via abortion (legal or not) you would not be around to fight for the pro-baby killing side. Ronald Reagan said that: "I notice that everyone who is for abortion is somebody who has already been born."
<img width='1' height='1' Matt Barber

You were hard-pressed to find the story or to see the images anywhere in the mainstream media - three unarmed Iraqi election officials recently murdered in cold blood on their way to work - dragged from their car and shot in the head, execution style, by spineless terrorists - the entire massacre caught on film. Their crime? - Helping to further the cause of a free and democratic Iraq.

Since the end of major combat operations, hundreds upon hundreds of innocent Iraqi men women and children have been deliberately targeted and blown limb from limb by foreign invaders - by the same Al Qaeda, Muslim fundamentalist terrorists who murdered three thousand Americans on 9-11, and who would gleefully kill every American man woman and child if they could.

But to the liberal media - to the left, these terrorists are merely “Iraqi Insurgents” - noble freedom fighters skillfully and willfully endeavoring to rid Iraq of the great Satan - wronged rebels attempting to righteously combat an “illegal” American led foreign “occupation.” The blame-America-first crowd prefers to lay responsibility for the death of innocents at the feet of the true enemy…President Bush - Donald Rumsfeld - the American soldier - the United States!

Michael Moore, the bloated, bloviating propagandist filmmaker who was seated in great prominence at this year’s Democratic National Convention, perhaps best personifies today’s left. This morsel of Moore wisdom nicely sums up the liberal take on the terrorists: “The Iraqis who have risen up against the occupation are not ‘insurgents’ or ‘terrorists’ or ‘The Enemy.’ They are the REVOLUTION, the Minutemen, and their numbers will grow - and they will win.”

In wars past, prior to the advent of “political correctness,” these words would likely have been considered treasonous, and may have even been actionable. Many regard them as treasonous still today - or at least - deem both the words, and those who acknowledge them… un-American.
But such people are not un-American. They are American (notwithstanding the fact that they are clearly ashamed to be). What they are is anti-American. The irony is palpable - They loathe the very Country in which they possess the inalienable right to spew such poisonous tripe without fear of retribution. They have nothing but disdain for the men and women who have died, and continue to die so that they can freely and richly live out their lives as thankless, pitiful, misguided blowhards.

In truth, these anti-American Americans embody the terrorists’ false hope for victory. They unwittingly add fuel to the fire. As they besmirch our Nation’s noble effort to provide freedom and democracy to the Iraqi people, these naysayers - these purveyors of doom and gloom only help to galvanize the terrorists - to embolden them and strengthen their resolve. Whether or not they realize it, their actions severely undermine progress in the war on terror. They have become unwitting terrorist allies. As a result of their words and deeds, American troops and innocent Iraqis have died - and will continue to die.

War is hell! It’s an extremely tough road that lies ahead. The upcoming Iraqi elections will prove to be a pivotal milestone, signifying the beginning of the end for the terrorists. As they continue to ramp up their murderous efforts, don’t think they don’t realize it.

But already, America and the world are safer with Saddam Hussein dethroned. To a large degree, the Iraqis are a liberated people - the majority of them will tell you that. They’re free from the clutches of the evil despot responsible for the murder, rape and torture of hundreds of thousands of innocents. The Butcher of Baghdad will never again fill mass graves with the tortured bodies of the blameless. His minions will never again rape and murder little girls as their fathers are forced to watch. He now sits in prison awaiting his fate, which lies in the hands of the very people he victimized. With freedom comes justice - and despite the best efforts of the terrorists and their anti-American allies - freedom and justice will prevail in Iraq.

Copyright © 2004 by J. Dean’s actions forced other candidates, such as Kerry, to move even further to the left. Most memorable of Kerry’s move was his vote against the 87 billion earmarked for the troops. Of course we all know that Kerry subsequently voted for it after he voted against it—as the Bush campaign so artfully told us so many times.

The irony of Iraq is that the ultra-liberal Democrats coalesced against the war in Iraq, but in doing so have hurt their party by moving it to the far left and thus contributed to Kerry’s defeat by forcing Kerry to move to the far left at a time when being a more centrist candidate in the primary would have better aided Kerry in the general election—thus Kerry’s forced leftward lurch in effect helped to re-elect Bush (thanks ultra-liberals).

Additionally, the repercussions from the ultra-liberals in moving the Democrat party to the far left is evident today as Howard Dean appears to be the clear front runner for the Democrat National Committee’s top post. I, and fellow Republicans can only hope that Dean gets the job.

A truism of campaigns and elections is the lower and middle, middle class rural, and suburban voter usually decides whom to vote for based on where each candidate stands on social issues rather than economic issues. Social issues simply evoke more of an emotion response in these voters. Social conservatism will beat economic liberalism virtually every time. Naturally, the only time economic issues become more important than social issues is when the economy is doing poorly.

Moreover, these voters also want a strong commander in chief, someone who will stand up to the terrorists (Bush) and not someone who wants to fight a more “sensitive war” on terrorism (Kerry). And when the far left folks, as well as the other elements of the Democrat party realizes this political reality, and runs a pro-defense, moderate on social issues, economic populist, Republicans will have a good fight on their hands.

What Kerry Is Up To

As I mentioned in my other column Mr. "No Character Kerry" blamed his defeat on a lack of voting machines in Democrat districts. Kerry stated that:

"Voting machines were distributed in uneven ways, in Democratic districts, it took people four, five, eleven hours to vote, while Republicans went through in 10 minutes -- same voting machines, same process, our America."

What's Kerry newest pandering ploy to the ultra-liberal base of the Democrat party? Why it is going after the Moveon.org crowd's second best target: Donald Rumsfeld and voting against the very qualified Dr. Rice.

http://www.gopusa.com/news/2005/january/0118_kerry_voter_suppression.shtml

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A20717-2005Jan19.html

http://www.johnkerry.com/petition/rumsfeld2.php

Why Democrats are the Minority Party

Democrats should stop: attacking George Bush on petty issues, being too liberal, and being too childish. And when they fix these problems they will be much more competitive in elections. If they continue their ways, they will be the minority party for some time.

1. Attacking George Bush: A liberal's favorite pastime. Unhappy with losing, liberals try to take it out on Bush. Attacking Bush for petty things like Bush should not hold an inauguration in a time of war and in the aftermath of the tsunami. Even if Bush cancelled the inauguration, the fact remains: Bush will be sworn in as president. Clinton, in 1997 despite a war raging in the Balkans and massive genocide in Rwanda went ahead with his inauguration and held many celebrations. Nobody said a thing about canceling anything. Liberals further believe that Bush should give the 40 million in private contributions earmarked for the inauguration to further equip our troops (I guess this is the one time liberals actually want to help the military), or spending the money on tsunami relief. Any pointless thing liberals can say to attack Bush they will. Hey liberals: ok, you personally hate Bush very very much as well as what he stands for, but personally trashing Bush will not result in you being the majority party or getting rid of Bush. (We Republicans attack Clinton in 1998 because of his affair and we lost seats in the U.S. house.)

The only way to win the presidency is by running a sensible moderate with sensible policies. Bush won, he is the president, and you should respect the fact that Americans preferred Bush to Kerry. Bush earned the right to have an inauguration. And he should. I hated it when Clinton won, but I respected the fact that he had the right to celebrate. It is more a celebration of our freedom. We are free to choose who leads us. Bush also has the right to work to enact his policies. Offer to work with Bush on "common ground." If you want something to attack, try to find problems the middle class has.

2. Too liberal: Democrats must not allow the Moveon.org folks to dominate their party. Stop being so anti-military, anti-America, anti-family, anti-gun, anti-capitalism, anti-religion, and anti-limited government.

Fundamentally, the problem Democrats have is America is more a center-right than center-left country. Since 1968, the only Democrats who have won a presidential election were candidates that capitalized on a problem voters believed Republicans caused and by being "moderate:" 1976 Watergate (Carter ran as a moderate and barely won) 1992 bad economy (Clinton won with not much more than the Democrat base, Perot gobbled up the swing voters, but Clinton still had to run as a "New Democrat"). When Democrats nominate a liberal they lose even if voters believe things are not going that well and a Republican is to blame. When a Democrat or Republican for that matter is elected president he must always stay in or near the center, if he goes to far to the left (or right) he will get punished (Clinton in 1994). So use government to help the middle class, be moderate on social issues and above all get on board with the war on terrorism.

Stop worrying about a terrorist's rights and focus on protecting (what ever it takes) Americans.

And don't listen to Ted Kennedy's solution that Democrats need to be more liberal, and don't elect Howard Dean as your next chairman. You need a leader who will unite and grow your party not just be the best Bush basher.

Follow Dick Morris's advice: move to the center if you want to win.

3. Stop acting like crybabies. Democrats should not have fought the certification of the election. Instead you should promise to work with Bush and help Americans. Democrats said they fought the certification because of "problems" in Ohio, yet the Ohio recount still shows that Bush won decisively. I don't hear anything from liberals about the problems in Wisconsin, where Kerry won. The only problem Democrats had in Ohio is Kerry ran a bad race there (as well as overall).

And on the subject of John Kerry, Mr. Kerry you didn't lose because of a lack of voting machines in Democrat districts causing your supporters to wait for hours and hours while Republicans just zipped on through. You lost because you were a bad candidate who ran a bad campaign. Mr. Kerry on MLK day, I know you could have come up with something more meaningful to say than making excuses about why you lost. You had 4 years to fix problems from the Florida ballot problems. We can't make you a better candidate. Don't you blame yourself a little for losing?

Or how about the Moveon.org wannabe group Americans Coming Together stating on MLK day that to "honor Dr. King's legacy" we need electoral reform to undo the "impact of the aggressive campaign of misinformation, repression and intimidation that was unleashed by corrupt Republican officials and partisans in 2004." And stop blocking Bush's nominees this only shows how shrill you are--is this all you have? You need a vision to win big elections and be the majority party; slamming everything Bush does because he won will only move you backwards.

Groups like Moveon.org are a virus to the Democrat party. They make Democrats move to the far, far, left and do stupid things--like exclusively cater to the far left. You'll never get elected in that part of the political spectrum. Let the radicals in your party conduct inauguration demonstrations; don't make these people the norm. It's the folks in the center that will ultimately give you your big win. Take the blame for losing, don't cry over it, learn from it, and work to improve the lives of working families by offer sound policies for the middle class.

Finally, here's a good piece of advice for Democrats given over 100 years ago from Democrat George Washington Plunkitt leader of Tammany Hall: "Me and the Republicans are enemies just one day in the year--election day. Then we fight tooth and nail. The rest of the time it's live and let live with us."

High School Graduation Requirement: Just Being Able to Read

What do you get when you have government run public education? Teachers that cant teach, a lot of money that's wasted, and students that don't learn. To illustrate my point, Milford Public Schools in Connecticut are now requiring students that in order to graduate from high school they must be able to read. Not elementary school, not middle school, but high school.

David Larson, executive director of the Connecticut Association of Public Schools Superintendents stated, "There is more and more interest in reading, writing and arithmetic in the high school level than there has been in the past." Larson went on to say that mastering these skills can only help students in the real world. Thank you Mr. Larson for that bit of information. Maybe, we should start teaching our children the three R's in elementary school, and not how to use a condom, or courses in alternative families. Is this how pathetic public school have become, teaching See Spot Run in the twelfth grade instead of the first?

http://www.connpost.com/Stories/0,1413,96~3750~2650808,00.html

Does the U.S. need legal help from Zambia?

In yet another example of why liberals do America a disservice, this issue covers the notion that judges can cite cases from foreign courts like Zambia, Albania, Bhutan, and Kiribati when interpreting the U.S. Constitution. And many liberals including Supreme Court Justice Stephen G. Beyer thinks this is a good idea.

Beyer and Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia debated this issue at American University’s School of Law. Scalia, being the very smart, common sense, level-headed justice he is, believes citing a foreign court’s opinion is a bad idea.

Scalia said our legal and moral framework is different than the rest of the world. And Scalia is right (as always). Scalia is also correct when he said that the framers of the U.S. Constitution “would be appalled” to see that the document they wrote being interpreted by foreign laws and opinions.

Didn’t we break away from England to set up our own system? A system that is the best in the world. Do we actually need help from some place like Uganda in interpreting our constitution? America got and is great because we did it our own way, and we don’t need any help from some third world country and their "courts" telling us how to interpret our constitution. Or is it perhaps America-bashing-lets-worry-more-about-a-terrorist’s-due-process-rights-than-our-national-security liberals want to chip away at our sovereignty and make us part of some UN one-world socialist government?

Whatever the reasons liberals have for wanting to water down our sovereignty, they must never be allowed to weaken the greatest legal system in world.

SCOTT PETERSON: ANOTHER ‘PLANNED PARENTHOOD'

By J. Matt Barber

The media latched on to the story like a pit-bull to a poodle – It’s been a perfect obsession. Coverage of the case has saturated the airwaves for over two years, with the Fox News Channel taking the lead…OK Greta, on the record – we get it – enough already!

As nearly everyone on the planet knows by now, former Modesto, California fertilizer salesman Scott Peterson was recently convicted of double murder for killing his 27-year-old wife Laci, and the couple’s unborn son Conner. It seems the jury concluded that Mark Geragos, Peterson’s illustrious, high-dollar defense attorney, was trying to sell them his own smooth line of fertilizer; but they weren’t buying – They recommended Peterson be put to death.

Although the mainstream media has fixated on the case ad nauseam, further discourse is warranted in light of its profound implications relative to the ongoing, and highly polarized abortion debate.

During the trial, for some inexplicable reason, the mainstream media generally abandoned its time-honored and typically unwavering “pro-choice” rhetoric, and began referring to baby Conner by such “egregious” terms as, “Scott and Laci’s unborn son,” “the unborn child,” and simply, “Conner.”

After recommending the death sentence, Juror Richelle Nice told reporters: “Scott Peterson was Laci’s Husband, Conner’s Daddy – the one person that should have protected them.”

But for Planned Parenthood, the National Organization for Women (NOW), and other militant abortion peddlers, the use of such language in reference to baby Conner has caused much gnashing of teeth – it’s left them seething – frothing at the mouth in a panicked frenzy.

They’ve struggled long and hard, and with much success, to dehumanize unborn children by placing upon them such euphemistic, innocuous, and clinical tags as “zygote,” “embryo,” “fetus,” and my personal favorite, “non-viable mass of tissue.”

Ironically, the word fetus is Latin for “young one,” and what really has the “pro-choicers” up in arms is the fact that this particular young one’s high profile murder was treated as just that…a murder. When Scott Peterson (apparently) killed Laci, his criminal actions additionally resulted in Conner’s death; or, euphemistically speaking – another “terminated pregnancy.”

Legal recognition that Scott Peterson murdered Conner, his unborn son, has unintentionally had the effect of bestowing upon Conner the precious, and heretofore judicially rationed status of “personhood.” You can’t murder a “non-viable mass of tissue.” But now, legally – and always, actually – you can murder an unborn person. Of course science, commonsense, and reality dictate that unborn children have always been persons.

Ultimately, the principles represented by this case pose a tremendous setback to the pro-abortion movement, and present a great step forward in protecting the lives of the most innocent and vulnerable of our citizenry. Those principles are further bolstered by ‘Laci and Conner’s Law’ (the Unborn Victims of Violence Act). President Bush signed the legislation last April. It mirrors existing laws in 29 states, and makes it a federal crime to harm an unborn child during an assault on the mother. It’s the first Federal law to give unborn children a status separate from their mothers. Additionally, it’s the first federal law to more accurately refer to the “fetus” as an unborn child.

Still, the battle that lies ahead is a daunting one. Obviously, the fight will continue, and only become more turbulent. There’s so much more that remains to be done in fostering a culture of life, and eliminating a culture of death. In her concise but cogent essay “Scott Peterson’s 'Choice',” Concerned Women for America Chief Council Jan LaRue points out the following:

“Simply put, the status of the unborn under the law and his right to life turns on whether the mother has him killed or someone else does so without her consent. It is the most egregious example of an incongruity in law that one can imagine.”

LaRue goes on to explain:

“There would have been no murder charge if Laci Peterson had ended Conner's life by abortion on Christmas Eve, and Scott Peterson would have been powerless to stop it.”

Consider for a moment – attempt to rationalize if you will, how it is that a father can kill his unborn child, be convicted of that child’s murder, and himself face the death penalty – while on the same day, a mother can elect to have her unborn child killed, spend time in a recovery room, go home to conceive again, and repeat the cycle as many times as she “chooses.”

Under the guise of a phantom “Constitutional right,” and with vigorous encouragement from Planned Parenthood, NOW, and their extremist ilk – millions of women per year do just that…have their unborn children killed. The “pro-choice” mantra: “It’s the woman’s right to choose!” – “get over your love affair with the fetus!” – “Keep your laws off my body!”

Well, sweetheart, it’s not your body we’re talking about – Conner Peterson, like so many millions of unborn children, had his own body, his own blood type, his own brainwaves, and his own heartbeat. Conner Peterson, like so many millions of unborn children, sucked his thumb, got the hiccups, cried, and smiled in his mother’s womb. Conner Peterson, like so many millions of unborn children, had his own life, his own dreams, and his own future to look forward to. But tragically…Conner Peterson, like so many millions of unborn children, was an inconvenient reality – an “unwanted pregnancy” to a selfish parent. And so, tragically…like so many millions of unborn children – Conner Peterson was murdered.

Copyright © 2004 by J. Mrs. Harrelson states she could use the money for school supplies, field trips, etc.

Naturally school leaders think giving money to anyone other than public schools is a bad idea. Dr. Joe Nelson, Superintendent of Florence School District One believes that "You're reducing the pie," when you give money to anyone else.

Of course these liberals don't want competition. They actually may have to work for a change! Competition is the best thing for free enterprise and everything else. It makes you produce a better product which in this case means children learn more and have the opportunity to make more money and have a rewarding career.

It's real simple: if an organization such as a school district knows it will receive money every year and probably an increase each year, no matter how they perform, what incentive is there to perform well?

(Moreover, since so much money goes into education today and there is no other option for most parents, public schools have the luxury to waste a lot of money. And they do! The best job in the world is to be one of many assistant principals at any given public school. Good pay and not much work.)

But if the same school district has other schools that children could go to, or be home schooled, and if parents decide to send their child to a private school or home school them, that school district could lose a lot money and possibly even go out of business I think they would cut out waste, teacher a lot better, and our children would learn a lot more at a lower cost.

Lets make public schools fight for their survival just like the rest of us!

http://www.wbtw.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=WBTW/MGArticle/BTW_BasicArticle&c=MGArticle&cid=1031780149567&path=

This Just In: Al Qaeda Doesn’t Exist

The foolishness of the left was evident once again in an op-ed piece in The Los Angeles Times by Robert Scheer. In this article entitled: Is Al Qaeda Just a Bush Boogyman? Scheer gives us the good news: international terrorism does not exist.

It is beyond words that a large even somewhat respectable liberal paper like The Los Angeles Times would dare to suggest that the threat from terrorists is more hype than reality. 9/11, USS Cole, the embassies, Spain, Indonesia, and Iraq? What more proof does this liberal need?

Scheer bases his conclusions on a “documentary” that makes Michael Moore’s piece of trash look like a true work of investigative journalism done in the days of old. In this “documentary” produced by an Englishman named Adam Curtis, Curtis claims that what we have been told about international terrorism: “is a fantasy that has been exaggerated and distorted by politicians. It is a dark illusion that has spread unquestioned through governments around the world, the security services and the international media.” Although I wish I were, I’m not making this up! This clown actually said these things. 9/11, USS Cole, African embassies, Spain, Indonesia, and Iraq? Were those fantasies?

This kind of thinking that the left buys into is why the left should have no place in government.

Scheer’s belief that Al Qaeda is no big deal stems from some questions Curtis's film poses. Some of these are:

1. Why hasn’t Bush produced evidence despite torturing prisoners that Al Qaeda is actively operating in 40 countries? Answer: The terrorists held in Cuba laugh at our weak “torture” methods (which are not really torture methods) and in fact they were well conditioned to know what to expect. Moreover, these individuals are not like any other enemy we ever faced. In short, the usual methods of interrogation do not work; few, if any give us useful information. These boys are pretty tough.

2. Why hasn’t Britain found and convicted any proven members of Al Qaeda since the 9/11 attacks? Answer: The enemy is elusive and even if you have one in custody, it could be very difficult to discern and prove if they are members of Al Qaeda.

3. With all the frightening talk about dirty bombs, Curtis claims that “experts” believe that panicking rather than radioactivity would kill more people. Answer: This is probably the most outrageous of all the arguments. In a concentrated city, a dirty bomb I strongly believe, would kill many more people than any panicking caused by people who learn that a bomb is in their city. But you know what, to the terrorists it doesn’t matter. They want every American dead. They may prefer we suffer first, but their ultimate objective is to kill, kill, and kill Americans. Terrorists do not care if Americans are killed because of radioactivity or from panicking. And furthermore, Americans are tough and smart too. If told of a bomb they would understand that panicking would only make a bad situation worse. They would do what is best for their survival, which is not to panic. Hey, English guy and your "expert" friends, how about giving us a little more credit. It was our ingenuity and tenacity that helped give us the W in our first war against you.

4. Back in 2001 Donald Rumsfeld claimed that Al Qaeda controlled massive high-tech cave complexes in Afghanistan, yet American and British forces found no such thing? Answer: Osama Bin Laden knew that America would retaliate for what he told others to do to America on 9/11. Osama had an escape plan ready, and after 9/11 he, and his cronies, and their gear were long gone. Osama’s ability to communicate today with the world clearly shows he retained and augmented his high-tech communications and undoubtedly his warfare equipment.

Scheer further tells us that Curtis claims both sides, terrorists and those fighting terrorism have a vested interest in maintaining the façade of an overwhelmingly dangerous world, and thus both sides have exaggerated the threat posed by Al Qaeda. So it’s all a scam, the military and intelligence agencies just want to keep this façade going to continue to get massive funding is that it? 9/11, USS Cole, African embassies, Spain, Indonesia, and Iraq? Where they a part of this façade to give some reality to this notion?

The scariest thing is some folks may actually believe this line of crap and want our lower our guard. I say again, this is just another reason why the left should have no place in government—with them in charge we would have no national security, terrorists could do as they please whenever they please.

Frankly, even as optimistic as I am, I would never think the left would get this far from reality, and suggest that Bush and other world leaders are fabricating the whole terrorism threat.

Probably the most outrageous claim Curtis makes is this: “The nightmare vision of a uniquely powerful hidden organization waiting to strike our societies is an illusion. Wherever one looks for this Al Qaeda organization, from the mountains of Afghanistan to the ‘sleeper cells’ in America, the British and Americans are chasing a phantom enemy.”

A phantom enemy? Tell that to the families who lost loved ones on 9/11.

CBS: Do I Have It Right?

Democrats needed to counter the swift boats ads. So they called their buddies at CBS (which is an extension of the Democrat Party and not a news organization) and told them to find some dirt. They forged a document, ran it in coordination with the Kerry campaign, and once it was clear the documents were false, CBS vigorously defended the story for a couple of weeks as well as and the authenticity of the documents, suppressed any investigation of the veracity of the story, and then once overwhelming pressure came to bear, CBS had an “independent” outside panel conclude that while there was “considerable and fundamental deficiencies” there was no political bias to hurt Bush and help Kerry. Moreover, the outside panel further concluded that it was essentially poor news gathering techniques that caused the “misreporting.” And to cut their losses CBS was forced to fired some of the folks involved in this scam. I might also add that a telling testament to what kind of individual Rather is, Rather chose he would rather not be around when the report came out. So I guess Rather can dish it out but can't take it.

Of course let’s not forget that very late in the campaign when CBS made one last ditch effort to defeat Bush they led us to believe that what was it “millions and millions” of tons of explosives missing in Iraq and that the complete failure by Bush to secure these will result in untold destruction to our troops and Iraq civilians, and of course our own security at home. I wonder if the “outside panel” had any remarks on this further attempt to defeat Bush and put their pompous, arrogant, French looking condescending, elitist, and Kennedy wantabee in the White House?

Last fall I was quite busy with campaigns so I wasn't able to follow this story as closely as I wanted to. So is that how it all went down?

Liberals, Terrorists, and Torture

In WWII if we tortured a Japanese or German so we could find the location of a supply depot, it would have been wrong. Torturing a terrorist to find the location of a bomb planted in the U.S. is not only our right to do to protect national security, but something we must do. Our enemy has the three things that could put our country at potentially great risk: 1. Money, 2. Motivation, and 3. A desire to kill every American. A different enemy requires different tactics. And this is definitely a different enemy. A terrorist would view giving him rights such as POW status as an example of our weakness. And weakness is not something a terrorist respects in any form.

If a terrorist was face-to-face with a liberal they certainly wouldn’t thank them for fighting to give them POW rights or that one extra twinkie, they would kill (via beheading most likely) the liberal. (Of course if that happened I might have mixed feeling about it.) Fortunately, we have the leaders who understand what we face. And as this article states, we are lucky the left is not in charge.

George’s Classy Move

Channel surfing on election night is always an entertaining activity. My favorite is that pompous jerk Dan Rather. Kerry is up 2,000 votes in Wisconsin and Rather automatically gives the state to Kerry. However, Bush is up 135,000 in Ohio for some time and we have to wait on the “provisional ballots.” Of course the chance of all the provisional ballots being counted and going to Kerry is probably 1 in 500 billion, and that still wouldn’t be enough! It was clear by midnight Bush won. Yet, Bush decided not to get on stage and claim victory. Bush believed it wasn’t right. The class Bush showed to wait until Kerry called and conceded was very admirable. Bush, despite enduring daily blow the belt hits and utter disrespect for him and the presidency certainly earned the right to claim victory once it was clear he won. For all of Bush’s class, Kerry showed a complete lack of class and fair play by not conceding on election night. If the results were switched Kerry would have been on stage with his liberal buddies talking about his historic win--guaranteed.

Unhappy with the results and showing no respect for the will of the people, Democrats called for a recount in Ohio. And low and behold after the votes were counted again, Kerry cut Bush’s margin by 135 votes, and for a of cost of $1.5 million to taxpayers.

Of course with these characters, it never ends. Jesse Jackson found another political ambulance to chase along with Senator Barbara Boxer and a host of Democrat lawmakers as they fought the certification of the Ohio vote, thereby working to disenfranchise millions of voters.

Democrats have no ideas, no vision, and no direction. So they just kick and scream like a baby who didn't get their way--this is all they have.

And where was Bush’s opponent when Boxer and her crew were fighting to disenfranchise Ohio voters? He was in Baghdad disrespecting Bush and lowering troop morale. Lack of ideas and vision, sore losers, wasting taxpayer’s money for no reason, undermining troop morale, looks like the Democrats are acting just like Democrats.

Frivolous Lawsuits

President Bush recently went to Madison County Illinois to underscore the severe nature of our “sue happy” society because The American Tort Reform Association awarded Madison County as the nation’s top “judicial hellhole.”

There is no free lunch. When lawyers and those they represent reap millions from frivolous lawyer suits, someone else pays. So, unless you’re a rich trial lawyer, or a client who reaped millions, you pay, and you pay a lot.

How do you pay? Higher insurance premiums and lower coverage, as well as doctors leaving communities that desperately need quality healthcare professionals. For example, my wife Beth is a physician. What does her day mostly consist of? Writing. Beth writes very detailed notes about what she did for each of her patients and why. So if sued she will have very detailed documentation to defend herself. So instead of seeing more patients, or conducting research or studying to become a more effective doctor, Beth writes for hours and hours why she prescribed X, Y, and Z medication, and did this and that, etc., for her patients.

To add insult to injury, my wife is in the army and the rules for suing are not as loose as they are in the civilian world. One could only image what a doctor who is not in the military must do protect themselves from these parasitic lawyers.

Beth is a concrete example of what these greedy lawyers and their (I want to do an end run around working hard day in and day out and get something for nothing) clients have done to undermine our society.

England has loser pays. Good idea. Want to sue? Fine. But if you lose you have to pay for the opposing side's legal bills. That makes people think twice before suing. I believe it has gotten so bad in America we should take it a big step further: You want to sue someone go right ahead, but if you lose you not only have to pay the other side’s legal bills, you must also pay them what you were suing them for! Sue for $35 million and lose? Well you better fork over $35 million for the pain and suffering you caused the defendant(s). This idea would put a big dent into all of these frivolous lawsuits.

Guns, Criminals, & Liberals

There were no surprises in a report issued by the National Academy of Sciences. In this exhaustive report these folks found that gun control doesn’t reduce crime. Any common sense conservative could have told them that! It’s real simple: if a criminal wants a gun he will get one, legally or illegally. He can get a gun from an associate, steal one, buy a stolen gun, or get one from his own family, and he won’t care about what gun law he broke, he’s a criminal after all. The study also found that a very small percentage of criminals got their guns by legal means. Most of these criminals got their gun(s) from one or more of the methods I listed above.

When I worked at the Maryland Republican Party I came face-to-face with criminals all the time. There was a parole office a floor below. When I saw these individuals in the elevator or around the building they often had a statement to make to those in the elevator, hallways, or to those going in and out the building. (And this should come as no surprise, I often went into the parole office because that’s where the vending machines were and the individual who acted so uncivil outside the office would sit there nice and quiet and in a remorseful mood. No doubt these individuals played nice for the parole board and I’m sure the parole board had a bunch of bleeding heart liberals who bought these criminal's repent and reform line of crap hook, line, and sinker!) And seeing firsthand how these individuals act, you could see that these individuals should be in general population, and not in general society. (Sadly, there was this nice older lady who delivered papers in the building but had to quit after the numerous comments directed her way took a toll on her.)

So liberals are either are so stupid to believe that if we pass gun control laws criminals will obey them, or they want to do whatever they can to see that law-abiding citizens are refused their 2nd Amendment rights, or perhaps both.

David Koziatek Chairman Republican Research Council

Hiroshima & The A-Bomb

Recently, while at the National Air & Space Museum, I heard these two liberals talk about how wrong it was to have the plane that dropped the first atomic bomb (the Enola Gay) in the museum (it was in the museum from 1995-98), and what a terrible thing it was to drop the atomic bomb. But here are some facts to consider…

First, we were at war and the Japanese would certainly bomb us with the atomic bomb if they could. In fact, the Japanese did mange to inflict some damage on civilians in Lakeview, Oregon. The Japanese released numerous balloons with explosive inside. These balloons were supposed to drift across the Pacific Ocean and once over the continental U.S. they were to release their explosive cargo. On May 5th 1945 one such “balloon bomb” killed a woman and five children. Fortunately, this was the only success the Japanese achieved.

Second, the first atomic bomb was not the most devastating bombing attack of the war in the pacific. On March 9-10, 1945, (five months before we dropped the atomic bomb) 270 Superfortress bombers hit Tokyo. These bombers dropped over 1650 tons of incendiary bombs. (These incendiary bombs were specifically designed so as to take advantage of the wood and paper construction of most Japanese homes.) The massive bombings created such a firestorm that the fire feed off itself and cause that much more devastation.

So the only thing America is guilty of when they dropped the atomic bomb was having a much higher degree of efficiency in their bombing campaign. Thus, if liberals say it was so bad to drop the atomic bomb, they must believe that the whole bombing campaign was bad, so perhaps the liberals believe we should not of bombed them at all, and if we did that maybe we should not even fight them in the first place, maybe we should just surrendered and not defended ourselves! This is an example of why liberals are dangerous!
